🧾 Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 can (400 g) refried beans or black beans
  • 1 cup salsa (mild or medium)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • 1–2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella or Monterey Jack (optional for extra melt)
  • Optional toppings: jalapeños, green onions, sour cream

🔥 Instructions

  1. Cook the beef
    • Brown ground beef in a pan over medium heat
    • Add onion and garlic, cook until soft
    • Drain excess fat
  2. Season it
    • Stir in cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper
  3. Build the base
    • Mix in refried beans and salsa
    • Let it simmer 3–5 minutes until thick and combined
  4. Add cheese
    • Spread mixture into an oven-safe dish or skillet
    • Top generously with shredded cheese
  5. Melt & bubble
    • Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes
      or broil 2–3 minutes until bubbly and golden
