🧾 Ingredients
- 500 g ground beef
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1 can (400 g) refried beans or black beans
- 1 cup salsa (mild or medium)
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp chili powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 1–2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella or Monterey Jack (optional for extra melt)
- Optional toppings: jalapeños, green onions, sour cream
🔥 Instructions
- Cook the beef
- Brown ground beef in a pan over medium heat
- Add onion and garlic, cook until soft
- Drain excess fat
- Season it
- Stir in cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper
- Build the base
- Mix in refried beans and salsa
- Let it simmer 3–5 minutes until thick and combined
- Add cheese
- Spread mixture into an oven-safe dish or skillet
- Top generously with shredded cheese
- Melt & bubble
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–15 minutes
or broil 2–3 minutes until bubbly and golden
