🍪 Chocolate Chip Cookies
🧾 Ingredients
- 2¼ cups (280 g) all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup (170 g) unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup (150 g) brown sugar
- ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1½ cups (250 g) chocolate chips
🥣 Instructions
1. Preheat oven
- Set to 180°C (350°F)
- Line baking tray with parchment paper
2. Mix dry ingredients
- In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt
3. Cream butter & sugars
- In another bowl, beat butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until creamy (2–3 minutes)
4. Add wet ingredients
- Mix in egg, egg yolk, milk, and vanilla until smooth
5. Combine
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet mixture
- Mix until just combined
- Fold in chocolate chips
🧊 Chill (optional but recommended)
- Chill dough for 30–60 minutes for thicker cookies
6. Shape
- Scoop dough into balls (about 2 tablespoons each)
- Place on tray with space between
7. Bake
- Bake for 10–12 minutes
- Edges golden, centers slightly soft
❄️ Cool
- Let cookies rest on tray for 5 minutes
- Transfer to rack—they firm up as they cool
