- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup warm milk (or water)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp butter (softened) or oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp instant yeast
🥣 Instructions
1. Activate yeast (if needed)
- If using active dry yeast: mix with warm milk + sugar, rest 5–10 minutes until foamy.
- If using instant yeast: you can skip this step.
2. Make the dough
- In a bowl, combine flour and salt.
- Add yeast mixture, butter/oil.
- Mix and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
3. First rise
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
4. Shape
- Punch down dough.
- Roll into a log and place in a greased loaf pan.
5. Second rise
- Let it rise again for 30–45 minutes until it domes slightly above the pan.
6. Bake
- Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
7. Cool
- Let cool before slicing (important for texture).
